AirStar Compressors

Ultra-Dry, Oil-Free Air

AirStar compressors protect the integrity of your work without the oil vapors that can compromise dental restorative materials such as bonding agents.

Compressed air is essential in dentistry, but ultra-dry, oil-free air is even more important. A compressor that isn’t built specifically for dental use cannot deliver dental quality air, and it ultimately puts both patients and instruments at risk.

AirStar compressors, from Air Techniques, are custom-designed and built for dental applications to deliver dental-quality compressed air not available with oil-lubricated compressors. Teflon technology removes the need for oil-driven mechanisms and the potential for oil vapor contamination. A Teflon ring lubricates the precision cylinder housing the piston, leading to a near frictionless motion.

An enhancement to AirStar compressors is the new Membrane Dryer System that provides the driest possible compressed air while maximizing performance—uninterrupted compressor availability with a simplified drying process. Air Techniques is the first dental company in the United States to offer this valuable engineering.

With the new membrane drying system, the drying process is simplified. Water vapor is diffused through membrane layers, and the filteredout water vapor is directly dissipated. Ultra-dry air eliminates the damp conditions that promote bacterial growth and the potential for infection. —Jason Schwartz
