"Prepless" Veneers - Resistance vs Acceptance
Author: Michael Miyasaki, DDS Date: 09.17.2009
It’s interesting how much resistance there was doing “prepless” veneer restorations just a year ago, and now everyone is trying to figure out how to do them with their labs, with CEREC, with E4D, and, of course, with LUMINEERS. It seems to be a repeat of the cycle of life. Remember doing veneers 20 years ago, when we did not have “dentin bonding” so we used feldspathic (thin) porcelains? Then Empress and the other pressed ceramics came, and when combined with dentin bonding we were able to achieve great esthetics, but at the “cost” of removing much of the enamel.
